У меня компиз нагло врёт в лицо, что, дескать, опенгыэля у меня нет. "устаревший" же берил работает как часы. Заголовки вроде включаются при наличии какой-то строчки в xorg.conf. Ну и при наличии собсно emerald или aquamarine а также (обязательно) включением соответствующено плагина в берил-сеттингс. На всякий случай мой работающий xorg.conf
